It’s that time of year when you’re caught between endless dilemmas—debating whether to go all out with treats or sneak in something healthy, though not entirely favored by the little ones. After much thought, I’ve decided to settle on a balance.  Check out below FANG-tastic DIY Halloween treat idea for my daughter’s school. I’ve combined a little something sweet, paired with a post-treat care for those precious teeth.

For the sweets, there are several options. I chose the mini Rice Krispies packs, but fruit snacks or a small bag of cookies would work just as well.

As for fastening tools, I’ve experimented with satin ribbons and twine. While elegant, they tend to slip and are harder to tie securely. Pipe cleaners, however, are much easier to twist tightly and stay in place. To complement this particular spooky season, I chose orange pipe cleaners.

If individually wrapped toothbrushes aren’t available, you can use small gift bags to pack both the toothbrush and the treat. Secure the bag with your preferred fastening too and finish off with the gift tag.

How to make FANG-tastic Halloween Trick-O-Treat

  1. Download the FANG-tastic favor tag on white cardstock. I used 230 gsm with 85 LB heavy matte cardstock in this example. Then cut each one out and hole-punch the empty space on the upper left corner.

2. When tying the toothbrush to the bag, I suggest using the dip (or groove) in the toothbrush handle to anchor the rope, preventing it from slipping off easily. Once secured the sweet and the toothbrush, twist the pipecleaner.

3. Add the tag and twist the cleaner again to secure it.

4.  For a decorative touch, twirl both ends of the pipe cleaner around a pencil to create neat curls.
